...and nary a RL15 load that gets there... Imagine my surprise...
I'd sure be curious how in hell TryMe gets those speeds with RL15 at "normal" COAL's and reasonable pressures. Common sense says he ain't.
Look, dorks. First, whether a 7mm-08 will push a 162 to 2700 fps is irrelevant. I'm sure some rifles will, somehow, with some powder.
That doesn't matter; even if one WILL, that performance is functionally matched or bested out to 1000 yards by MontanaMarine's .308 load, as I showed. That he posted. Hint.
Second is the issue of TryMe's credibility. He's built this whole fargin' Internet persona on beating people up over ballistic minutia. Then he weasels out when someone asks for the details of a load- one that his whole hypothesis depends on!? 80 pages of [bleep] from the idiot, and he won't even post the load? That's an embarassment.
I just finally put in my Midway order Monday, I'm not waiting any longer. I'll try Tryme's load if he ever posts it but I'm not waiting any longer.
TryMe, post your load!

I promise to not cut on JO anymore until he says something stupid again... You don't have to cut on him, he likely does it himself...like other neurotic bich types.

Not to drag this all up again, but I thought during the course of this thread that the load seemed familiar to me. I had copied the load in question RL-15 162 AMAX, for a buddy who had just gotten a 7mm-08.
I emailed him because I couldn't recall the data, but we both keep log books of load/shooting data for our rifles. Here are the results from the day he/we chrono'ed the load: 06-13-07 Temp- 97 Wind- left to right, half value 10 shot string over chorno X 2 Results Avg. fps = 2537fps Std. dev. = 11fps
Oh and Jeff O before you go jumping around shouting how you knew it wouldn't do 2700fps! : : : : : : : : The weapon used was a Savage Striker bolt action pistol with a 15" factory barrel. Only thing different than from the factory was the the bore was lapped with JB.
I reckon with 7" more barrel 170 more fps would be no issue what so ever
Try not to confuse her with the facts.

Little more churn for ya, I'd carry a 15lb., blue, 303 Brit, complete with see-through's and a Simmons 8-point scope before I'd own a 7-08. How's that?

You're twisted.... Let's go guys, only 8 more pages for a double-C! JBabcock's brothers' bear would have been just as dead hit with a 7-08 and a 168VLD as he was with the 300 Weatherby and a 200 gr Partition...............

Only thing a 308 is good for is 7-08 brass. JO is hoping that a wonder load get him more knock down on the ass shots.
