Well, I finally shot my T/C, Triumph B.C. today.

This gun shot very well.

Powder used Blackhorn 209
Primer used CCI-209
Bullets used, Powerbelts, Barnes Tipped MZ and Barnes Spit-Fire T-EZ

Blackhorn 209 is the only powder I used today.
Powerbelts were used first. 348 grain bullet. The group was 1 1/2 inch at 100 yards. This is about how my Knight would shoot these bullets.
I was using 100 grains of powder with this load.

Then I used the Barnes Tipped MZ 250 grain bullets. These bullets shot a bit tighter than the Powerbelts. I could get a, 1 inch group with these bullets. My gun, must have a tight bore or I was, use to using them Powerbelt bullets. I had to work at seating them down the bore.
I used 100 grains of powder with this load.


Lastly I tried, Barnes Spit-Fire T-EZ 250 grain bullets.
This bullet is a hole lot nicer to load.
I used 110 grains of powder with this load.
This load and my gun are like peanut butter and Jelly. They worked real well together.
I shot a .310 inch group with it. That will make you smile with a new smoke-pole.

I will continue to use Blackhorn 209 powder. It seams to work just fine for me.
I will also try the 290 grain tipped EZ load Spit-fire bullets.
I have other bullets to try with this new gun, like Nosler and Hornady.

Good to hear. TC's are notorious for tight bores.
How hard was it to seat the Barnes in your tube?

Nice shootin HD, did you clock any of you're loads? I was shooting my Omega today with BH 209 and 250gr SST's with 90 grns of BH 209 and getting killer groups, have not measured them but there in the 1/2 inch range.

How many shots were you getting bettween cleanings? Seems like I dont even need to clean with this powder.

I would call it hard. I would bet about 80 lbs. of force. I think I read you should only need about 30 lbs. ??

Once I used the EZ bullets, heck with them hard to seat ones. Especially when the EZ shot so well.

I would clean after every six shots. Mostly because it was a new rifle. Never had a hard time seating the EZ bullets or the Powerbelts.

When I shot that last group (.310) that was # 4, 5 and 6 .

I was thinking about only shooting two shot groups for a Black Powder gun. When are we ever going to shoot three times at one critter.

Clean up was easy with some Hoppe's #9

I never did check the speed today.

80 grains and the new Hornady 350s shoot very well in my Triumph.

Did not take long to find out your new Triunpth will shoot.

Fantastic .310 group.

Glad you posted your results, I'm thinking of trading in my Omega for the Triumph Bone Collector.

No arguing with those results... Great Shooting!

In my opinion, it seems all the Bone Collector has over the other Triumph is more rubber.

I'm not seeing a justifiable reason for the 200 increase in price!

No doubt it's a good shooter but it seems a 200 dollar Waddell name and rubber add on to me.

It has a Stainless Steel tube, if that helps.

I was going to buy the Triumph, but the stock did not fit my face right. The Bone Collectors and Triumphs stocks are cut different.
The BC felt better to me when I mounted the weapon.

There was only a 100.00 diff. when I baught mine. I paid 609.00 for mine.

Fit is important too, of course.

It's not the money so much as it is me analyzing why. Over-analyzing maybe!

Quick aside...With a TC Triumph and the Leupold ultimate slam, can you get away with a low profile Talley or do you need to go to medium height?
