The smallest man handled the recoil best. Good stance and firm grip. I suspect a few had never shot anything before, and probably will not again. Randy

I believe they only used to cost $4500 new a few years ago, with the 500 A2 going for $3800. Not sure if Art Alphin still makes those rifles or not. The stock is a hopeless log, and the sights are a bit cheesy. Not really a classic gun. Another more desirable rifle will show up.

The gun isn't worth near the asking price to start with, you could have a much better one built for less money...
As to the caliber, it is about worthless if your going to use it to hunt with...
You would be carrying a barreled action driven into a damn stump that weighs a ton..probable 15 to as much as 20 plus miles per day..
Those folks that have the really big bores that weigh in at 18 to 20 lbs. have them for bragging rights, they can't pack them all day in 115 degree weather for 20 miles then shoot them effectively. 12 lbs. is the honest limit and that will stress the meanest man in town.

Apparently that rifle has taken several beatings from being dropped on the floor. Pricey way to laugh at unsuspecting dupes, but amusing nonetheless.

stay away from A-square rifles....bad stuff happens to them and their owners. If you want to "invest" in a firearm,go find the best "pre 64 Winchester M70" you can and enjoy...
Come on America, Athletes and actors are not heroes, only soldiers, airmen, marines and sailors get that respectand let's add firemen and LEO's
