Any bets regarding whether Jeff O is capable of procuring ammo for a 7mm Rem Express or a .244?

I have to agree it violates a basic rule of marketing - product identification should never be that hard -- I bought a VX-III after reading about the features of the VX-3. IF it hadn't been such a good deal (wonder why that price was reduced?) I'd have sent it back before I realized it probably didn't make a whole lot of practical difference whether it was the III or the 3.
The Three or the Three...duh...

And to think they missed a chance to make a whole new name.
crazy
VX-3000 ("Better because the name has more digits and a new box...")
or maybe
V-Rain-X ("Water repellent coated all over")
grin

At the last few gun shows, it was common to see used Vari-X II's labeled VX-II.

Ignorance, or...?

They naming system becomes really confusion since 2-3 years ago. I hope they are listening to the complaint and will correct that

Do I agree that it was a poor idea to have both a VX-III and a VX-3? Yes, I do ...

Have I lost any brain time worrying about it in any way, shape or form? No, I have not ...

Old joke re: logic and not meant to be an insult. Didn't think many would get it, just having fun at the fire.

Doesn't bother me, I only discuss this stuff here and as long as I hit the keys right everybody knows what I'm talking about (even if I don't.)

Ya missed the point.

A VX-III and VX3 are sitting for sale on a table. You say, "I'll take the VX Three". What you just said means nothing. Nada. Zilch. Could be either one.

That ain't right! grin

No, you're right. As somebody who is fairly new to shooting that has confused me a bit when talking scopes. Hell now I don't even remember which 3, VX, III, Vari III I have. It is about twenty years old and a 2.5-8, but I'd have to go look for sure.

Ya also missed the point, Ray! smile

If Remington came out with a NEW rifle and called it the Model Seven Hundred, but it was different than a M700... see?
