Can anyone tell me which model Glenfields were produced in the following configuration:
.35 Cal. Pistol Grip stock short magazine tube (1/2 or 2/3 legnth)
I'm looking for a project gun and trying to figure out which of their models may have had all 3 of these features.
Appreciate any input you might have.
Thanks,
YB

I dont know of many Glenfield .35's out there...most if not all were made in .30-30. Marlins are a different story:
MODEL 336A - improved 36A, .30-30 Win., .35 Rem., or .32 Spl. cal., round breech bolt, 24 in. barrel with 2/3 mag. Mfg. 1948-1962, re-introduced 1973-1980.
MODEL 336SC (SPORTING CARBINE) - similar to Model 336C, with 20 in. barrel and 2/3 length mag. tube, raised comb buttstock (1957-63). Mfg. 1948-63.
and the new
MODEL 336XLR - .30-30 Win. or .35 Rem. cal., features stainless steel construction with 24 in. barrel, ballard rifling, fluted bolt, 5 shot mag., black/grey laminate stock with deluxe recoil pad, adj. folding semi-buckhorn rear sight, hammer block safety, 7 1/2 lbs. New 2006.
hope this helped.

Hi MarlinBill,
Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I'm aware of the Marlins. I'm not very familiar with the Glenfield model designations and configurations though, but I beleive I've heard some reference of them having made some .35's.
I'm not having very much luck locating any data though.
I'd like to pick one up if they exist, and I can find one, for a project gun. I want to cut it down to 18" and recrown, but don't want to mess with (more like do not have the skills for) cutting dovetails for sights and mag. tube retainers, so a short mag tube gun will work well.
I may end up going with a 336SC if I can't get a hold of a glenfield.
Thanks again for the info.

I looked them up in an old Modern Gun Value catalog and found this. Glenfield Model 30, 30/30, 4 shot tube mag. 20" barrel, hardwood stock, no checkering. ( 1966-72) Glenfield Model 30A, same as model 30 except with impressed checkering on stock.( 1969 into the 90's) Glenfield Model 30GT, same as model 30 but with an 18 1/2" barrel. (1979-81) They only show them made in 30/30 Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info jbmi,
Looks like they didn't make any .35's.
Guess I'll have to focus my search on the Marlins.
