Problem with the model 11 can be parts if one wears out..I wouldn't bother with one.

The 16 gauge I have belonged to my Great-Grandfather. I can't miss with it. I have much more expensive guns in the safe, but I can't keep myself from using the Model 11. Its family history and my success with it will probably result in my wearing it out, but I still can't resist.

Remington 11 shotguns go for dirt cheap at gunshows.
I have one in 12 and one in 20 ga.
They are EXTREMELY good guns.

I bought one a couple of years ago at a pawn shop for the friend discount of $100. It's a 16 gauge with an ugly polychoke hanging off the end of it. If I could find a regular 16 gauge barrel I'd change it out but so far no luck, only 12 gauges. I'm an LEO Rem 870/1100/11-87/700 armorer and I was scared to take this thing apart the first time.

I had a Model 11 16ga with a Polychoke and sold it, in retrospect, if I had it how I would either shoot it as is or see if the barrel could be cut and threaded for screw in chokes.

Btw, If nothing else it was used to good effect by Col. Askins to control the mexican issue across the Rio Grand in years gone by. Hell that is enough reason for most true Americans to own one if nothing else....;-)
