These were less than 200 yards. It was a sow with two, two year old cubs. Pic taken in Montana's Absaroka Beartooth Wilderness. Saw 5 grizzlys and 3 black bears that day.

Can't wait can't wait..studying my maps nightly. Pretty much every year I try to find new honey holes and spend less time in the ones I've been going to for years. It's sort of fun for me and kind of like sorting out a puzzle.
Thinking I found a really good new one for this year. Thinking that is, time will tell.

I'm coming down in May to chase a few bears around with greenhorn....I'll look you up when I get down and we can go eat a steak somewhere....Land Of Magic still open over in Logan?

That'd be good Pat, and yeah LOM is still serving good grub. My fav of the valley by far though is Ribs @ Willow Creek Cafe.

I'd shot it.... North Fork has lots of 6'ers that are your textbook blackies. I've always had a hard time getting excited about that. But then, if I did shoot one, it'd be good practice
