I know, I know, I shouldn't micowave trout,it is a disgrace, but I am going to the black hills for a few weeks this summer, and my digs only have a microwave. So next eating them raw, this is my only option.
Thanks Campfire

I think I would try to grill, rather than microwave a trout.Surely,if your in the black hills, you have room for a grill.

Even one of those grille/campfires in a box would be better I think.

I can't help you with a Micro. Have you considered a small throw away grill or a Hibachi, a chimney, and a bag of charcoal?
Oldtimers used to talk about wrapping gutted trout, filled with butter and thyme, in triple foil, and placing them on the car engine. Drive 60 mi and then have lunch. Good luck.

Thanks Campfire make a fire outside, and grill them alfresco. I can PM fire making instructions.

I have microwaved them, and they are great. Gut them of course, and lay the whole thing on a plate and cover with plastic wrap. Zap for a couple minutes one side, flip and zap another minute and you're done. You can lift the skin right off with a fork, eat down to the backbone, flip and repeat.
