I have own or have owned a few "stock" 99s with better than average wood but this butt stock would go up against many on the highly engraved guns... I wish I could get the T picture to post at a larger size b/c its really hard to see just how nice it really is. This is the closet 99 that I own in terms of wood quality and its an AB engraved gun...
Thanks for the date help Rory, I'll get it lettered one of these days and let you know for sure, and yeah, both sides of the T are nice... I'll try to post up some other pictures later this week.
hahahaha... that is circassian walnut and is factory documented... I just wish it was mine... I tried but sort of regret not trying harder... for a non-engraved gun in 303, it sure brought a LOT of money but in a lot of ways understandable to right collector...
got me a new 1 2day its not a t but i sure like the feel of this 1. just hope shoots good . is that t on gunbroker worth 19 res not met . the last 1 looked alot better went 4 2150 may went 2 cheep ?
Popp, what is the caliber on the one you bought today? Got any other picutres? Serial range? Is it a smooth shotgun buttplate? Looks like A-3 checkering I think they call it... got one just like it in 303... letter request was mailed a few weeks ago.
As for as the value of the T's... I don't that a 300T is worth more than about $1500 even in 95%+ condition, 250 would be the next most expensive, followed by 303, then 30-30 at probably a fair chunk more.... in 22HP a LOT more.
Others here might argue, and the market will show you the prices... they have been several Ts in 300 for sale for quite a while and most bidding was not going much over $1000 then suddenly these last two have received monster bids... who knows.
