Hey guys,

I have a couple of straight-combed rifles that beat my face up a little when shooting off the bench. I'm a lefty, and I'm looking for either a LH add-on cheekpiece (the lace-up style, or similar), or else some sort of lace-on comb raiser, like an ambidextrous cheekpiece.

Any ideas? I'm having a hard time finding anything with my Google searches...

of pretty isn't a priority, get a piece of 1 inch pipe foam insulation , split it so it rides on the comb and duct tape it.

Google "sniper stock packs" and you should find something suitable...

I use the comb riser kit by Beartooth. I have this on several of my rifles and it works for me. The kit comes with several foam pads of different thicknesses so that you can get just the right height. It also goes a great job for me in cushioning my cheek. I believe Cabelas, as well as Midway, sells them, though I'm sure there are others.

Good luck

I had exactly this problem with my XR 100 thumbhole laminate stock. I needed the height of a finger thickness to get a decent repeatable cheekweld and none of the comercial are suitable for a TH stock. I took a 150mm length of 40mm sink waste pipe which is some sort of hard plastic. I made one cut lengthways and using a heat gun( carefuly) re shaped it tb be like an upside down J without the top bar. The edge of the curl sits on the edge of the roll over comb and with more carefull use of the heat gun I could shape the flat to follow the comb face. Then by cutting it back to have the same edge lines as the comb I put cling film on the stock and filled it with expanding foam. I thought I may have to remove it to allign the cleaning rod and was looking at a hinge of some sort but with it taped in position the bolt can be removed and the chamber guide inserted with a free run for the rod. I will inlet a couple of nuts into the stock and use a machine screw to fic it on. Will cover it in thin leather for looks. I get perfect cheek weld and consistent centering of my eye for the scope now.

I also found satisfaction with the Beartooth kit, and it doesn't look bad, in my opinion.

There are a few different kinds. I just ordered one from
Tacpro since I'm in Calgary.

Blackhawk! has a "tacticool" device with layers that can be added to raise to proper height.

Thanks, fellas. I ordered a Beartooth raiser, so we'll see how well that works for me.
