I went shopping for a new car and this is one I am looking at in earnest. I love my truck, but sometimes I would like a car to drive. Had one up until last year when I gave it to my nephew, and in truth I have missed it. Before buying it though I would appreciate any comments or suggestions you folks might have. I sold my business a few months back, and I really don't mind paying a little extra for a car, but in truth I want one I am going to keep for a while, no intention of getting a new one for several years after this purchase, as my truck is 2007 and will need to replace that in a few years I am sure. I don't want to waste my money, and in truth I am not that knowledgable about cars/trucks specifics. Was actually thinking about waiting till I return to the states to buy one, maybe in November when a friend of mine could help me, but I am not even sure he might be agreable. Anyways, thanks in advance. 2010 Lincoln MKS

Long time Ford truck guy, myself, but the Lincoln is probably a good deal. You can get it with a 355 hp engine and all wheel drive, which would be nice if you take it to the Great White North. For a few thousand less you can get a Taurus SHO with the same engine and all wheel drive hardware. You could get one of these, too...: http://www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/f150/trim/?trim=raptor:grin

Don't buy new... Let someone else absorb that loss...

Don't overlook the Cadillac CTS.
IMO the best American sedan available right now.
If you can swing a test drive in a CTS-V you'll be in for a real treat.

Chessmaster if your shopping in that price range. I am thinking you need no help making that decision. GW

I guess I should explain that this is my one and only "I busted my ass all this time, I sold the business and the Government took a hunk that would choke a goat before I got it, and I would like to be able to have just one extravagant thing to enjoy".
I don't do furs, I don't do jewellery, I don't do big vactions all the time, I rarely buy anything for myself, and if I was involved with someone I would probably buy a vehicule for them before me, but I am not, and I guess I just figure I deserve something after all this time.
Anyways, thank you for the comments.

Then get what your heart desires.
If you want to be pragmatic pick a few few cars and check the resale value / reliability of them and pick one.

Speaking of Canadian taxes. Any ideal on what percent you would pay on a home sale of around $800,000. Previous owner owned for twenty plus years and had around $200,000 in it. Curios as x-sister inlaw is selling one. GW

Win / Win I guess that would be the best thing to do, and maybe I should take someone with me who could guide me better in the process. Lynn
