I am working on my father-in-law's 336 as it has a "jamming" issue. If you load the magazine with any number of shells and then lever one into the chamber, the shell carrier will not bring the round up far enough before the bolt starts forward. This causes the end of the round to jam up below the chamber. If you fiddle with it, it will finally feed appropriately and eject with no issues but will jam up on the next round. I have removed stocks, bolt, & lever, and cleaned thoroughly. The carrier comes all the way up with no round in place. It does not appear to be a dirt/debris problem. Has anyone had this situation before or possbile remedies?
