You might be missing a point here, Stick.. Not everybody's built alike.. I have a couple customers who are rather gangly, so to speak, and have to have their scopes mounted high enough to allow them to get a good picture with their cheeks on the stock.

From the looks of those groups above, it appears he can shoot that rather nicely..

Maybe you can get by with super-low rings.. Maybe he can't and has to mount it to accomodate his build..

I have one of the push feed Winchesters, a M70 Safari Express in .375 H&H. I really like the rifle, have not shot much but paper yet with it.

Simply amazing. Target after target and nothing but good experiences with Model 70s and all we get from the kool-aid drinkers is nothing but hyperbole disguised in some combination of pigeon-english and computer geek-speak.

redneck, let it go. in every single instance he knows everything there is to know.

just kinda too bad too because he is an intelligent and experienced guy who could do a lot of good if he weren't too interested in sarcasm and bitterness for whatever reason.

My pushfeed Winchesters are some of the most accurate and well finished guns I own, and I'm a pre-64 guy. Don't know why some people have to knock other peoples rifles. I own about every brand and they all have their pluses and minuses. To each his own.

Yeah, I foolishly got drawn into a "discussion" with him on another thread. There's no way around it, he KNOWS and has DONE everything! Just ask him, he'll tell you! (or even don't ask him, he'll still tell you...and in a more vitriolic style than old Swampy)
