*shrug*
Savages usually shoot, but I don't like the chambering he's floating... no rocket science knowledge required there. Thank God.
I like my 700p; talk about seeing your hits... a .223 that heavy is very stable. absolutely patterns the 75-amax though, which is a bummer.

Some like repeating what they've heard. No experience required.
Parrots are a good example.

I never asked the validity of my cartridge choice simply the rifle. Big stick what is your problem man? It must take a lot of effort to be the jerk that you so obviously aspire to be. I made it my prerogative to apologize to you for a certain comment yet you still can't see through your ego. Grow up!

I don't mind learning and totally agree that a 223 is a great round for bench rest shooting and practice but its not ideal for hunting deer on wheat fields. I said I wanted something for hunting the wheat fields. If I wanted to go small I would just use my 22-250!

Get you a stainless 700 SPS, 7-08, and gun 120gr TSX's over RE-15.
Step up to a 700, .280 Mountain Rifle if cash allows.
That will get you started.

thanks buck that's a much more economical approach. BTW the wheat fields are around 300-400 acres each

I think the classifieds are where to look. I think the 7mm-08 is a great round but not the best for open wheatfield gunning.

I will tell you that if it weren't so ridiculously expensive for reloading components and ammo my first choice would be a 257 weatherby.

400 yards is about as far as I want to shoot at something that lives.
