Anyone here with connections to Browning? lol.... Life's too short to smoke cheap cigars....

Life's too short to smoke cheap cigars....

But they are an interesting cartridge. Exactly. I load 44-40 for my S&W model 544 "Texas Wagon Train" and it is maddening to load for compared to reloading .44 Specials (or mags). Have to be too careful with the 44-40 brass, AND you have to lube them (no carbide dies available). ken@the river GO DUCKS!

My point was all the bottleneck cartridges (32-20, 38-40, 44-40) are a PITA to reload to those of us who are used to loading up say, 500 .44 special cartridges in carbide dies and not getting lube on our fingers! ken@the river GO DUCKS!

The 44 WCF is thinner and will fold up if handled carelessly. That said, it actually holds more powder than a Magnum. The main thing about reloading it is kinda getting in a rhythm.
