Nobody can derail an informative thread faster than Swampy can and that is a shame and a disservice.

In my short time here, it seems that most folks attack Swampy more than he attacks anyone. Swampy just seems to be a tad narrow-minded (understatement?).

That's because, like the TROLL he is, Swampy posts absurd and irrelevant statements solely for the purpose of getting attention.

He makes blanket statements which are obviously and demonstrably false and then when confronted with the true facts he merely says that he's right and is always right.

People bust on Swampy because many here think that these forums are a place where one can learn and help others to learn without being sidetracked by the narcissistic, juvenile, and deluded rantings of an attention whore.

He's a troll pure and simple and this site would be improved by his leaving.

I have a question for Swampy...

I think of him as "someone who enjoys himself even in the face of strong opposition". I get a kick out of him because I rather enjoy seeing him provoke others into disagreements so easily and leave them frothing and barking.
I don't pay so much attention to what he says but I do enjoy the way he gets his victims to overreact so easily and the fact that he lets insults roll off him like water off a duck's back.
Some guys like R D Finn seem to take him personally, and seem to feel compelled to start threads about him---with insults--- which to me is weak, and plays right into the game...I think it's the desired effect.
I say these things because I know someone who Swampman reminds me of, and he got that way because he had to take so much crap growing up it was either water off a duck's back, or die. He survived and is doing well.
Carry on, Swampman. Do it your way.

No sir, I don't take him personally or seriously. You should take note that I have not insulted him either. I was simply curious why he or any other troll takes so much satisfaction in drawing so much negative attention. It would seem that only someone who has an extremely low opinion of themselves and/or is extremely immature would take so much time and joy out of doing so.
