DANG! and did you say it was a .270...? one of my faves..... whistle

Well.....The first 2/3rds or so of the barrel is 270, but not sure what the last 1/3rd of it is. The bullets don't really go all the way through, so I think it might be a little smaller???? Swampy recommended I shoot a few 243 loads through there and that might straighten it out. I'm loading them up now.

No...it came in bubble wrap. Swampy said it's a lot better than the new ones you can buy at wal-mark.

If the bullets don't go the whole way through you are losing all the advantage of all those extra MOAs...

Not sure I even wanna buy the gun now.... frown

NO....I borrowed a sledge hammer and a piece of rebar from the range master and I got them to go all the way through.

Probably a bad scope..

Nah. Looks like a Tasco? Also looks like the only thing that survived the trauma.

Oh....that's probably the crappy cell phone pics. You may not be able to tell that the scope is a Tasco World Class 3-9x40. And it's one of the Taiwan models, which swampy told me was much preferred and much better than the old Japanese pieces of crap. I think those were his exact words.

So just read this whole thing, it appears you can't keep your answers straight in the same thread.

......njs1230...........You busted the `ol fart. Good one there.

From now on, Swampy should just do us all a favor and list everything he doesn`t like; whether its a rifle, a scope, a handgun, car, boat, an ATV, 2 or 3 wheeled motorcyles of any kind, or whatever it happens to be.

Then the rest of us when we are ready, will go out and buy whatever he dislikes. He`ll do us all a big favor.

In my case, I`m off to a great start with Swamp`s dislike list.

300 WSM Ruger Frontier (barrel too short, too loud, and Rugers can`t hit a damn thing)

338-378 Bee Mk5 (too powerful for most realistic hunting; shoulda just got an `06)

375 Ruger Alaskan (the 375 Ruger will be "obsolete" someday. No need for it)

`09 Escalade (too metro gay)
`011 GT500 (In Swamp`s eyes, too fast and damn gas hog)
`011 Can Am Spyder RTS (simply too gay and too ugly)

What else don`t ya like Swamp? Please make a list and if I`m in the market for any one or more of those things you really dislike, I`ll rush right out and get it.

In fact, you`ll probably do the rest of the forum group a big huge favor because whatever you dislike, will certainly work to our advantage.... grin
