I thought it was getting ready to paint, and now your taking more parts off!!!

He's helping because he wants to learn and he's having fun. Looking forward for his project (undecided as to what that will be)

but when he's ready, I'd let him drive it (with me in the car of course)

I know, I know... Well I have some fender work to do that will be easier with them off the car. it also allows me access to the forward rocker/hinge post areas for inspection/repairs. It lets me sand down these areas and get them painted better than I could with the doors and fenders on.

The other thing is that when I look at all the work that has been done this far.... Well I just have to do things right with the rest of the car too. Seperating the inner and outer fenders to clean and prime them where they sandwich together is a very good thing to do for peace of mind.

I'm also leaning towards pulling the engine now too so I can do a better job painting the inner fenders and firewall.

I think it should be a 1969 Dodge Dart Swinger, painted Medium Green!

Damn, that's GREATgrandmaflauged, a Dart Swinger? Stealthy, steathy. No cop would look twice at it.

Dart Swinger, hot 340 with a 4 speed and 4.10 gears, not much going to pass you.

All it takes is a some long green.

Anyone with the cash can amble down to their local Mercedes dealer, buy a sedan that their grandmother could drive, and yet that same car would destroy the Dart in any performance measure.

Or you could go buy a Viper and you could destroy the Mercedes.

Enough now this is Dave's thread, as it should be.

I used to have a 68 Roadrunner that would destroy the above 2 cars listed.....stoplight to stoplight that is.

I've had a few cars that I felt lucky if I made it from stop light to stop light.

Great job so far Dave- I had a feeling you weren't quite done taking that beauty apart. Better now than later.

It's the throwback in time that I'm in it for.

A hard run 1/4 mile in this old roadrunner is a violent, clumsy and loud event.

Just the way I like it.

ah the coolest days of drag racin
when super stocks morphed into one piece funny cars
the FX cars had acid dipped steel bodies with the wheel bases shifted as far forward as possible

The Hurst Hemi -Under Glass 'cude was made to race but wheelstanded too easily and ( with the Little Red Wagon )
created the wheelstander show cars.

Just drop a blown Hemi in the back of either one!

That was when the bug bit me and I ended up in a B/gas dragster
all 92" of it! LOL
