Just found this little jewel on the Marlin Web Site... No price listed, but they have been listening to the public evidently... available in 308 and 22.250.. 26 inch heavy barrel, Picatinny Style Scope Mount Standard and their version of the accutrigger... I'll be on the look out for one ASAP... Nice, I bet they are shooters for sure.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Yes all the Marlins are shooters but the trigger is more like Glock than a Savage. Lower safe limit is about 2 pounds, not ounces like the Savage. My 270/22-06. Shoots quite well.

I went down to price one in 22.250 and Davidson's has the twist on the 22.250 listed as a one in 10, not a one in 14..
evidently, they are listening to the public that the one in 14 is old school and folks want more versatility...
or it was a mistake on their product launch...
or third, the barrels are being made by Begara, as they are in love with a one in 10 twist for everything...
I was quoted $360 delivered and out the door...

Marlin lists the twist on the 22-250 as being 1-14.
I think I'd trust Marlin's own site more than Davidson's.

problem is NOBODY cares who you trust.
As ususal you are talking, while others actually build/own the rifles. Left with nothing to do but cut and paste old posts..... how sad.
Going up to the range tomorrow with my ANIB 7mm08 camo Marlin and 4-12 camo Bushie ...... did I mention both were bought HERE ?
have another Hopfenmalz..... it will ease your pain of being obsolete.

FWIW, I called Marlin and was told that the X7VH in 22-250 has a 1-14" ROT, so it appears that either Davidson's had a special run made with a 1-10" ROT or it was a typo on their part.

Radical Idea:
1. Buy one 2. Measure the twist 3. Post results here
New (to me, bought here) X7S 7mm08 dropped 5 Federal Blue box in 3/4" untuned.
Currently getting the barrel free float, glass bed the action treatment, glass bed stiffening dowel in fore end (already had the ADL guard).
Just ordered a Nikon, rings and camo tape (barrel & bipod) all in Realtree APG.

So., Which Nikon did you get? I have been more and more impressed with what Marlin and Savage are bringing to the table every year. I had the pleasure of shooting a few new Savages 12 wit hthe Accu-trigger. This little .223 was a tack driver. The owner told me he has ordered another one in .308 as well. He topped the .223 with a Nikon M-223 3-12 Rapid Action Turret that due to range limitations we were only able to shoot at 200 yards. What a blast and I was impressed with sub 2 in. results off sand bags. This is the first model 12 Savage I have been able to shoot. Much Nicer then my mdl 112 .223 single shot. They have a bunch of left handed rifles coming out on this platform thankfully as well. Thank you for that Savage!

I've shot a lot of predator with a lot of different cartridges and never felt handicapped with a 1-14" ROT 22-250 shooting 55 or 60 grain bullets. There you go; first hand experience. I shoot 52 - 55gr bullets out of my Savage Model 12 (1:12 ROT) and it works for me..

Wonder if they will EVER got out of the stone ages with twist. Guess what, ain't no trick to shoot 52-60's in a 1-8" twist, try shooting a 75 in the 1-14"

I'd bet there are more folks out there shooting 52s & 55s in their 223s and 22/250s than 75s.
I like a faster twist as well, but to most varminters and target shooters the slower twist works just fine.

Yup, the 22-250 is a Varmint cartridge 55-63s work fine.
If you want to shoot 1000 yards a 6.5 x 284 is much better.
