20 gauge slug gun is plenty. Easier to shoot on the shoulder, for sure.

Browning reintroduced their A-Bolt slug gun in the 2011 firearms catalog but like many other firearms makers advertising a gun don't make it available for purchase and Browning is just now dribbling a few of these into the market, I'd say it will be a little while yet before you can read a review on this rifled slug gun, it looks to be the exact same slug gun as the old A-bolt and by all accounts they were very accurate and trouble free, the used ones bring top dollar if you can find one for sale. If you are worried about this guns quality I wouldn't. I will also be buying one of these in Infinity camo before Ohio's gun season gets here, I won't need to read any reviews as I am confident this slug gun is top notch.......Good luck ...........Hillbilly.

When the discontinued original sells for 1300 used on Broker you have to wonder what kind of marketing genius they had have at Browning. They must have hired a bunch of Remington Marketing people before they discontinued it the first time. They didn't sell for $hit when they were being made so they discontinued them. Then they got a little bit of a cult following and the price went up in them. If Browning had been making them all along there value would be less and there wouldn't be the interest in them. I had wanted to pick one up for the last couple years because they looked cool but now that they are available new I don't think I will be picking one up because anyone will be able to get one. The person who made the discsion to drop them originally was probably pretty smart and the guy who decided to bring them back will probably be shown that it wasn't a wise diesicion.

A Savage 220 is 1/2 the price Of course it is, it's also 1/2 the gun! A Yugo sells for less than 1/2 a Chevy but I don't see people lining up to buy a Yugo!

The 220f is exactly what it is designed to be. Accurate, strong and affordable.

I have an origainal it's the best production slug gun that was made, very accurate, nice trigger and shoulders well....IMO Browning dropped the ball big time by not re-introducing it in 20 ga.

Know that the newer model A-Bolt has a faster twist rate.
And, it is also made in Japan like the earlier models. That still means something to some.

I think best for the money slug gun would be the Savage 212, but the best production slug gun on the market period is the A-Bolt.................Hillbilly.

I've always wanted one of the originals and posted a thread about such a few years ago on here. This will be my first a-bolt when I do get one. Top it with a Leupold 4x and would be good to go, I think.

TarHunt is not a production slug gun, Encore aint even in the picture My T/C pro hunter 20 gauge slug gun will shoot 3 slugs with all holes touching at 50 yards. I have one group that is 3 shots in one hole. For a slug slug the groups makes a pretty picture. Doc

My original A-bolt slug gun with smooth bore and five inch rifled choke tube will shoot three slugs touching holes at 100 yards.I had 2 rifled barrel A-bolts and the choke tube model I kept shoots just as good or better and is lighter in weight.
