If you are like most folks I know, you will do your deer hunting with several rifles this season. But what is your #1 rifle/scope/load that you will be hunting with this year? RS Your are correct, it is a #1A in 7mm-08 with a Leupold 6X AO.

My go to rifle would have to be my mod70 featherweight in 6.5x55 using 140gr Hornady Inter Lock's. I've only had three in my life I'd call a go to rifle.
Ruger m77 tang safty, 22" barrel in 7x57 with 4x Redfield using 154 gr Hornady round nose bullets.
Remington m660 in 308 in a 20" barrel with 2 3/4x Redfield using Hornady 165gr Inter Locks
Now it's my mod 70 mentioned above. It has a 22" barrel.

Thanks again Brian for a very fine rifle Oh BTW ingwe you don't have to worry this won't be wearin a Bubba since it's a tube shooter.........but it could

Man, I hate this question! grin....
Probably will be my "built by me" 700 25-06 with my aluminum Monster Barrel. I shot 110gr Accubonds through it.
Runners up, 243AI and 7mm-08. They will all prolly get hunted equally though!

Probably my ruger 77 in 257 Roberts. I have not had a chance to christen it yet even though it may have killed a truck load in it's former life. For me it needs a story. If not that my 70fwt in 6.5x55 it's new to me too.

One that's sure to see a lot of use, starting in Wyoming, is a nice Rem Gander Mtn Guide rifle in .308 that I picked up from someone on the fire.....perhaps the OP....I was shooting it yesterday out to 500yds and it really shines. Shooting 168 TTSX's over 45.5 grains of Varget. Post on (in a Leupold 2.5-8) is only 3" low at that distance. Second in line is an AWR in .338WM with the 210 TTSX's, it gets to go west also.

Probably a rotation of 6.5x55's: CZ550FS peeped, Husquvarna 1640 Leup 3x, and this CZ550 American just feels right with enough heft to be steady:
