My main rifle for the 2011 season will be a 20" 700 in .308win with a 5-20 Trijicon. Not too exciting, I know, but I bet it will work. I imagine I will also hunt the 444, 257, 223AI, 7mmRM, and 25-284. I never figured you for a 444 kind of guy.

Stevens 200, 7mm-08, bedded in a Boyd's thumbhole laminate, Nikon Team Primos 3-9x40, 120 NBT @ 3100 for the rifle, although I plan to spend most of the time out with the iron sighted Redhawk loaded with 240 XTP's @ 1475.

Any two of these four will be used on every hunt by my nephew and I; .223AI Remington LTR using 53gr TSX or 55gr TTSX w/6.5-20x50 Zeiss Conquest .257 WBY Vanguard Sub MOA using 100gr TTSX w/4.5-14x50 Zeiss Conquest
.280 Steyr Prohunter using 120gr TTSX w/4.5-14x40 Leupold VXIII.
.300 WSM Winchester using 150gr Interbonds w/3.5-10x44 Zeiss Conquest.
Hopefully all will get plenty of action considering your allowed three does a day in Unit L in Tennessee.

I think this year I am going to take old reliable most of the time. My name sake. A Ruger M77 Mark II in 270 win. topped off with a Bushnell Elite 3200 3x9 40mm and loaded with a 130 gr TTSX over 60 gr. H4831sc. Then again I might go for a dink with this. Would this be considered baiting.
Whatever a 7x57 can do a 270 can do better.
True fair chase is you in the woods buttnaked with nothing but your finger nails and teeth.

Awh, Yes the ever present BLUE TAPE everyone needs that on their gun for hunting according to some here a couple of years ago. Nice guns but I'd use a finger cot it's more useful, it'll keep the rain from going down the barrel.

If you are like most folks I know, you will do your deer hunting with several rifles this season. But what is your #1 rifle/scope/load that you will be hunting with this year? Kimber Montana .308 Win. It's wearing a Leupold 2.5-8X w/ B&C 'hairs in Tally ringmounts. The load uses the 165 grain Nos. accubond over 43.5 grains of RL15, WW brass, Fed 210 match primers. Tom

Probably the Kimber 8400 .300 WSM, since I have an elk tag for the same season. Maybbe the Win 70XTR Fwt 7x57, though.

It will be my "new" Winchester M70 Stainless Featherweight .270 win. I've had it for four years but only just recently put a Leupold VX-II 3-9x40 on it. Will use Winchester 130gr. Power Points.

Either this one: MY Springfield 30/06 Or this one: My Ruger Model 77 MKII in 7mm/08 For Elk it's either the '06 or the Remington in 300 Weatherby. Your're a lefty with right handed rifles. Welcome to the club . Nice rifles too by the way.....
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
