Joe Pfeifer was a custom barrel maker/rifle builder in the 50's. His barrels and rifles were high quality. There's 2 pages of info on Pfeifer's work/shop in Roy Dunlap's book, "Gunsmithing". According to Dunlap, his stockmaker was D. J. Kennedy. And FWIW, Roscoe is now a neighborhood/suburb of Sun Valley.

Thanks that kind of confirms the little I know. I know Pfiefer sold barrel and action 'kits' but these were not marked like his customs are and this is.
