I know, for a second I thought Brother Dave had gotten himself a dog....then I realized the beauty was Master B's dog....took me a minute to figure out the post was about a new deck !

Master B- both dogs are beauties ........

I got to ask for clarification, that isn't really a hunting shack, right? I mean somebody has this as their primary residence right?

If not, that has to be the nicest hunting "shack" I have ever seen.

The mechanical part of the trap is coming along nicely... where's the bait?

Is that the banker sulking on the deck and pulling his hair out? It's pretty high up...just make a dog run with some harnesses for your friends, you'll just hang up your shotgun on the rail shooting skeet. I think Stick is tough enough to be allowed to roam freely, 20 foot fall would probably be like going to the Chiropractor for him.

So imagine the cold is getting to MB, either that or he is in training for his upcoming bout.

I do not envy you guys for needing to maintain that cedar deck but it sure looks sweet now.

What's the best way to seal/protect the cedar decking and siding...anyone know?

David,

I used to really like the Behr Rawhide products for the cedar siding on our house with southern exposure. But they have changed the frigging formula due to government regs!

I bought up the last of the 5 gallon cans SBS had here a few years ago.

I'd take a look at the Superdeck products I guess, Rivers Woods sells it here and the guy that runs the place is long on quality and value and I trust them. It's what they carry.

BTW, place looks great, let us know if any HG's spring the trap! (grin)

Was NOT Gov regs that shut down Behr RAwhide. It was their application schedule. If they had kept the product it would have folded them. They were suggesting several coats too many and the result was a plasticized house with water underneath.

When the water boiled its way out on hot days it took a lot out of the finish and when trapped in the wood after the cracking it turned black. If you put the stuff on and did not follow their directions you will be alright. It is not bad product.
