I've got a question for you Alaskan's - the Hunting Shack and other's in the pic's are covered in wood siding, but why? It looks like with all the rain up there brick or aluminum siding, or something else would be a better choice.

You have to remember they are in the backwoods. They are not up on the latest technological changes in building materials.

Dave Go with Superdeck products. I had to sand all that rawhide off a 2800 SQ. FT. log home after black mold started to grow under the coating. I applied superdeck stain when I was done and that was five years ago. It still looks like new.

Cedar is the ONLY way to go in Paradise....
Seakins (sp?) is expensive, but is what is used for most cedar applications up here. Dave, we might have a deck painting party when you get up here, if the weather permits.
I've recently retired from the construction industry, and living a life of luxury in a full-time position in paradise that is more friendly to my hunting and fishing addiction...........

Actually, it's an expensive Houndgirl trap... Hmm. Shoulda curbed the cash flow...and gotten yourself a dog...and a little log cabin with a wood-burning fireplace....set deep in the forest....at least 100 miles from the nearest person.....but chances are grand you'll catch something with that big ole fancy house of yours.... BTW- where is that 10 person hot tub you mentioned ? HoundGirl

Forest service has those scattered all over the state for around $30.00 a night. I certainly don't dare to make an offer after the last love note you sent me
