My employer is bidding on a job in your neck of the woods, possibly a two+ year job. So, naturally, I think I need to build a Hoosier rifle! Mostly inspired buy Tom264's .358 WSSM. So, what's it take to get a Remington 700 up and running? Do you start with a standard WSM action? Block the magazine and bolt stop? Mag box/follower?

Rem 700 is harder to get to feed/function the short fat bastids. Go with a Model 70 WSSM action. Don't have to do anything with it.

My gunsmith actually has a 700 he rebarreled, and I think it's for sale...

I'll throw a pic of mine up here shortly.

Finally got some crappy iphone pics of my new Winchester Hunter stock. 50/50 black/orange McSwirly. Rifle is a Model 70 Coyote CRPF WSSM action, with Douglas #4 barrel. 358 Indiana Deer Cartridge or 358 Short Fat Bastid as I like to call it...

Where is tom anyway. Usually anytime someone mentions gay, he's all on it.....in a hurry like bricktop when it comes to shipping something.....

yep. I'm digging your orange/yellow/black. If you could get a WSM action in there and slap on a 358 WSSM barrel, that would be schweeet....

Yeah, but don't use the phrase "sucky" around Tom though.....

Heck, another one just like it is only a few mouse clicks (and 14-16 weeks) away!

Off topic, but I had the last Mickey I ordered shipped out on Monday last week. That was the first time I didn't have one in the works for about two and a half years. Ordered another one yesterday (a KS in yellow-orange-black flame, like I intended the other one to be). That was the worst six days in a long time! crazy
