If I draw the coveted LE tag, then I will be toting my Model 70 in 7mm Rem Mag. If I don't draw a LE tag, then I may just lug my Knight Wolverine 209 in .50 Caliber around the hills. Only time will tell.

Thinking it will be my FN Mauser in 9.3x62 and some 250 accubonds. Project almost done. Will take the Winchester 1895 in 405 win as backup. Love them big holes.

5.5 lb. HS Precision PHL 300 WSM, or custom 10 lb long range rifle in 7 mag. Depends on where I am hunting.

try the speer 250 grain bullets
http://www.speer-bullets.com/ballistics/detail.aspx?id=118

Ive used 215 fed primers, seated the bullets out to max length that functioned 100% reliably, don,t get crazy worrying about velocity's, just find the most accurate load, anything from 2375fps to 2500plus works fine
IMR 4064
WW748
H380
IMR 4320
they all resulted in decent accuracy in my 35 whelen with that bullet and it works really well on elk

Primary Tikka .300WSM again with 180 tsx. Backup Ruger M77 Boat paddle .270 with Hornady Interbond 130gr.

Both work well on animals for me last year.

If I opt for elk in CO over a Pike County, IL whitetail hunt I will be choosing between my 3 model 70's in 270 WSM, 300 WSM and 30-06. Leaning towards the 270 WSM w 140 Accubond's due to familiarity.

I plan to use the simpleton's version of Bob's combo. Winchester M70 in 7mm RM with a 175 grain Partition. whistle

I have 15 points for Limited Entry Elk in Utah, so I have a good chance of getting a really good tag.

Chet

Custom 338-06 w/ 225 AB's or it it gets done in time, possibly a .375 Chatfield-Taylor with 260gr Accubonds. Fat chance getting drawn in AZ for a cherry though...

Savage Sporter in 25-20. But to be humane and ethical, only neck shots at less than 50 yds.

Iffin I get to go this year I'll carry the old standby rifle in 338-378 WM, using the 225 TTSX's at 3375 fps.

If the new 300 gn Accubond is out soon enough and the rifle likes em, Ill try those grin

Gunner

Oh and backup rifle is a Ruger tang safety in 338 WM with 250 SAF's at 2750.
