Third (and I am not a doctor), Fluke said that the birth control pill (estrogen) is used to prevent or mitigate ovarian cysts. If this is correct, it is a medical prescription for a health issue.
Which is specifically ALLOWED on her school's health insurance policy!

I wish I had the time to pick that testimony apart.

And....
Seeing as how she has been involved in "reproductive rights" issues, and will be graduating law school, i smell a class action suit for all "the faces" she sees at her campus.

Is this her entire testimony? If so, based on the comments here, and by Rush, I bet NONE of you actually listened to it. Every word in that 11 minutes was hearsay, and anecdotal evidence about other people. If that's it, Rush Limbaugh was way off base and out of line, and so are most here when it comes to her personally, and the nature of her testimony.
I did watch it, and, as I said, it is only about 0bama requiring every HI policy to cover birth control. You'll see her talking about hormone therapy and how that should be covered. But Oh! Wait! Nevermind! Georgetown's HI DOES cover hormone therapy! She even admits it! Why is she testifying then? Her problem isn't one for Congress, and her supposed "problem" has nothing to do with 0bama's mandate that all HI should cover birth control. If she is having contractual problems with an insurer, she needs to consult a lawyer. You know that, she knows that. This is just a deception with the intent of clouding the waters to give 0bama cover for his BS mandate - the one that include BC coverage for BC, NOT hormone therapy! Typical deceptive Straw-man bullschit!

Not denying that at all, just saying, the way it's been attacked by the right, and in the ways people have on this board, has done nothing but HELP their agenda. Had everyone just said "meh" and let it be the meaningless testimony it was, it would have died a quick death. Now Fluke has been elevated to victim/Goddess status in the eyes of the left, and is going to be pimping her/their agenda all over shows like The View etc.

No accident that she uses the word "contraceptive" when the rest of her testimony is about "hormonal therapy". Does anyone really believe that's a mistake from an educated woman like that?
The issue here is whether or not 0bama can force people/institutions/insurance companies to pay for contraception/abortifacents/abortions.
If you don't think that is a huge issue, then the Republic really is lost.

If I didn't, I might not give a chit. As long as I am paying the freight, it pissses me off to have people keep tacking more stuff on that I have to pay for. Now we're supposed to pay for some lesbian's birth control and also some [bleep]'s hormone therapy? I have nothing against [bleep] or muff munchers as long as they aren't preaching to my kids or doing things of a sexual nature in front of my kids. I don't want hetero's doing those things either. The bottom-line here is who is paying for it? I don't want to. It's another nail in the coffin. The lesbo chick is hawt though. If I weren't married I'd do her in a heartbeat. I've got earplugs from shooting so that I don't have to listen to the Commie shixt she's preaching while we're [bleep].

And you thought that fundi-Islamist were easily agitated to distraction. You can lead some self-avowed conservatives to the fountain of truth but they rather waste their vitriol on a designer flack catcher.

Bless the lord for such salaciously earth shaking scandals to keep the easily distracted little minds off a truly dismal period in GOP politics.
This one has it all, birth control, sex, (or too little sex) depending on the perspective, political intrigue.
Oh my, now it even has gay sex and political operatives, my god, there could be talk of an impeachment here soon.
The major difference between belief and fact is those who believe something have come to a conclusion no facts will contradict. Well informed people are open to new facts that oppose their beliefs. That also defines an open and closed mind.

Maybe I got distracted by something here at work while listening, but I didn't hear her say one word about herself, or what she uses. I definitely didn't hear her talking about her own sexuality or sexual practices. In fact one of the first things she said was she was there speaking for others. [/quote]
And that sir gives you a heck of a leg up on many who are arguing the issue despite the fact that they have not bothered to see for themselves what is the real facts. The interpretations of this starting with Mr Rush are, shall we say, less than accurate.
Good job.

Cole, don't get complacent. A committed ideologue may know sign language as well... so, bring a bandana for your eyes or have a plan keep her fingers away from view- perhaps an oversized pair of fluffy mittens.

Just a general question. Do you people that think that worrying about what she said, blocks one from being concerned about all the other things that are hitting the fan? I am able to multitask when it comes to bi!!hing about the things in this country going to h*ll. It seems that paying for someones birth control when they are going to a school that costs a bunch of dough, just makes them upset,it does me as well. How does they have time to take all those classes, when they are having sex 4 or more times a day?

What a crock, for the most part. Like what for instance? Well, for starters, the socialist language: ......................................................... We are all grateful for the new regulation that will meet the critical health care needs of so many women. When I look around my campus, I see the faces of the women affected by this lack of contraceptive coverage. we students have faced financial, emotional, and medical burdens as a result, <again> they tell me that they have suffered financially and emotionally and medically because of this lack of coverage. One told us about how embarrassed and just powerless ....................................................... OMG, the emotional burden of having to take care of ones self! Their feelers are hurt! She speaks for the downtrodden female masses that are subjected to the ignorance of men who will not "GIVE" them contraception. Contraception is not a medical necessity. It is not an issue with "access". The next thing will be how the poor cannot afford groceries and there should be national grocery insurance. A lot of this is not even about "insurance", but about having someone else pay for what a person needs. You're a smart guy, Jim. You can see this.
