No accident that she uses the word "contraceptive" when the rest of her testimony is about "hormonal therapy". Does anyone really believe that's a mistake from an educated woman like that?
The issue here is whether or not 0bama can force people/institutions/insurance companies to pay for contraception/abortifacents/abortions.
If you don't think that is a huge issue, then the Republic really is lost.
I think I already agreed with that. But, I have to say, if we can keep more dummy, libs, who are to be raised by those believing in entitlement from being born to this earth, is that a bad thing? I pay taxes. If I didn't, I might not give a chit. As long as I am paying the freight, it pissses me off to have people keep tacking more stuff on that I have to pay for. Now we're supposed to pay for some lesbian's birth control and also some [bleep]'s hormone therapy? I have nothing against [bleep] or muff munchers as long as they aren't preaching to my kids or doing things of a sexual nature in front of my kids. I don't want hetero's doing those things either. The bottom-line here is who is paying for it? I don't want to. It's another nail in the coffin. The lesbo chick is hawt though. If I weren't married I'd do her in a heartbeat. What a crock, for the most part. Like what for instance? Well, for starters, the socialist language: ......................................................... We are all grateful for the new regulation that will meet the critical health care needs of so many women. When I look around my campus, I see the faces of the women affected by this lack of contraceptive coverage. we students have faced financial, emotional, and medical burdens as a result, <again> they tell me that they have suffered financially and emotionally and medically because of this lack of coverage. One told us about how embarrassed and just powerless ....................................................... OMG, the emotional burden of having to take care of ones self! Their feelers are hurt! She speaks for the downtrodden female masses that are subjected to the ignorance of men who will not "GIVE" them contraception. Contraception is not a medical necessity. It is not an issue with "access". The next thing will be how the poor cannot afford groceries and there should be national grocery insurance. A lot of this is not even about "insurance", but about having someone else pay for what a person needs. You're a smart guy, Jim. You can see this. Got to give you credit. At least you looked at it intellectually, and didn't call her a slut, or worry about her sexual orientation. And you're right, but again, all this stupid crap by folks like Rush has done nothing but keep her (and the agenda) in the spotlight.

No need to worry on the grocery insurance. We have 1 in 6 Americans on food stamps now and with a little bit more effort on the state level, we can get that number up.

I was trying to point out that the govt. should not be in the position of paying for contraception, Viagra (although I can see how that could be argued as a quality-of-life treatment), medical marijuana. As I've posted in several other threads over the last year or so, it's akin to demanding "grocery insurance" because the price of food is too high. None of it is about access or insurance. It is about having someone else (employer, taxpayers) pay the bill. Savvy? Your ad hominem verbage adds nothing to your "argument".

There was an email sent from Georgetown University which claimed that Ms.Fluke is a lesbian. Why is this important? Rush is a fat ass drug user and I don't think that being a fat ass affects his ability to fan the flames of hate. Who really cares about her sexual likes or did likes? So it looks like:
1. Sandra Fluke has political and social views that are not endorsed by the members of this board;
2. She may not be, or may be, a lesbian (in which case, she probably doesn't need birth control);
3. Law students are not sympathetic messengers for government funding of contraceptives;
4. Rush Limbaugh (and I never thought I'd quote Al Franken) is a "big, fat, idiot" who blundered into a trap, without really paying attention to what Fluke was doing/saying, and provided priceless ammo for the left. Meanwhile the right is stuck with a guy who's a "messenger" and a "driving force" when he's on, and only an "entertainer" when he pooch's it...
This whole thing has been a debacle.

I work for very hard to keep myself in shape. I work out, eat right, rarely drink and have never smoked. It was out of character for you and perhaps I misunderstood your inference.  Medical MJ has many therapeutic associations and could justfiably be prescribed long before Viagra for quality of life issues. I just find it ironic that it's usually the old SS/Medicare guys that protest the loudest about "footing the bill"...all the while popping pills and hard-on meds on the taxpayers dime. And before they start yelling again I know y'all paid in your 5% or whatever but y'all are exhausting it faster than I can pay for it.

How can Ms. Fluke have spent money on birth control when she obviously doesn't need it? . as to this, it is possible that she gets it to help regulate her periods. its a common practice.

Not on medicare as I still pay my own way but having worked in the medical field for years it is prescribed and costs are covered by medicare for hard-on meds. Next phalacy....
