That dadgum coyote came to the call directly on the path that we walked in on behind the hill where I took the photo. I'll never forget that stand. I called up 7 coyotes in 5 stands that morning in New Mexico too... She was on the left of me and she saw it first right at the base of the hill. She said "coyote" and I looked and didn't see a thing (I spot 99% of stuff..grin). I told her to tell me the position of the coyote with the clock (we had practiced). She paused for a minute and said 3 o'clock! I looked to my right and for certain didn't see a coyote. About the time she got her gun up and was fiddling with her sticks trying to get lined up for a shot. To her left. I finally see the coyote at about the 8 o'clock position and whistle it to a stop and she kills it. After we walked over to it I asked her what was up with the 3 o'clock call and she said she forgot what it meant and just said a time... That country we were in my brother in a contest earlier this year called up over 60 greys in about half a night...grin...
