It'll be the 270 WSM Montana or the old 300 Ackley... Depends on the day.

If I was to hunt elk this year I would be using this.

Probably kill a pig with it and hopefully my first deer.

Assuming I draw a tag this year I'll be using a custom Mark V chambered to 378 Weatherby firing 270 grain TSX bullets. Unless of course my experiments this year with the 250 grain TTSX prove fruitful, then I might convert to those.

If it's not raining (I need to re-blue it) - my sporterized M1917 Enfield in 7mm Rem Mag. That gun may look like a beast but it's a tack driver. This year I took a late season cow off hand (sitting) at 165 yards, neck shot, with only 1" of the shoulder and the head/neck showing. I hit it 1/2" from where I was aiming.

Raining/Snowing - Rem 700 CDL in 7mag. Unless I find a Sako 75 or 85 also in 7mag to replace it.

Either my Pre64 .270 Fwt in hunters edge stock or my trusty 700KS .300 Win Mag ... I'll probably take both.

Dober I've said it before, but that thing is a sleeper! Where are you keeping your drops? (noticed you're running the M1).

I only need to bring one like usual....:
Ruger m77 MKII 338 win mag with Elite 4200 2.5-10x40 with firefly reticle:

Shoots like this with 250gr. sierra gamekings...

and maybe even this one to break it in real good after I get some cerekote on her (ruger m77 tang safety 300):

I'm hard on my hunting rifles and the rugers are my workhorses. I had to re-paint the floorplate on the 338 win mag after last elk season....pushing through the manzinita is hard on them....

DOBER: I'm glad to see you will be using the 155 scenars in your 300 shorty. I just bought 500 scenars today as a matter of fact. I can't wait to try them in my 308's...

Tanner, I have them on my LRF and on the orange sticky on the side of the gun.

Tanner-one of my challenges (of many) is that I need reading glasses these days. So...if my cheat sheets too small I can't read it on the fly. The orange dots make it kind of handy cause the black el marko shows up well on it.

As you might well imagine it isn't exactly time efficient to go for the cheaters (reading glasses) while the elk walking across the ridge.

700-but for the most part I don't shoot at game much over 500 anymore.

The glasses things is one of the reason I like dotz. I can easily see the dots...
