Have some 105s on the way for my Stevens 200 243 w/1-9 1/4" twist which Hornady recommends. I have the 85 gr. Partitions shooting fine with H4350 but want a bullet for a windy Montana antelope hunt. I'm sure I'll need a slow powder and have RL 22 and 4831 on hand. Any ideas?

RL 17 is what I'm using in a 243. I get 3075 with good accuracy with both hornady 105s. They shot better with a slight jump in that vanguard. Lapua brass and win LR primers.

The .243 and 105 A-Max's are a fun combo! I'd also recommend giving Retumbo a try:

I'm very interested in this also. Right now I'm working on ladder test with Winchester Supreme 780. Started at 44gr. And worked my way up to 48.5gr. In .5gr steps. At 350 yards 46.5gr to 48.5 showed only 2" of vertical. Where .5gr difference was jumping around 4" on loads below 46gr. I just loaded up 16 more in .2gr steps so another trip to the range is in order. I still need to pick up a chrono but the speed seems to be there. Max load of 780 was hitting quite a bit higher than Nosler's factory 85gr. Partition load at a stated 3250 fps.

Want To Buy;
Form die for a 7mm Mashburn Super.
.284 Hornady AMax 162gr.
.224 Hornady AMax 75gr.
22-250 bushing die
Bushing die that will work with the 7mm Mashburn Super
A couple Glock 42 380ACP mags

'17 and '22 both work but '22's load density give me better es and accuracy.

Blood, what's your difference in speed between '17 and '22?

I might have to try some H-1000 with this combo as well.

Retumbo and the mag primer of your choice. My load did 3030fps out of a 24" tube.

Probably 40-50fps favoring '17 but '22 gets the accuracy nod.

I just picked up a couple boxes of 105s also. I got some A-Maxs and some Speer Hot Core 105s and Speer SPs.
I was thinking of just sticking with my H4350. what has been your experience with 4350 & 105s?

I wanna give the 105 AMax's a run in my son's 243. I think it would be a super load to let him stretch it out some and probably shoot just as well as the 7mm Mag's.. I have seen the 105AM shoot some incredible groups at 600.

Here is what QL predicts with a 22" barrel.. I am looking forward to trying them in my son's 243.

Cartridge : .243 Win.
Bullet : .243, 105, Hornady A-MAX 24562
Useable Case Capaci: 48.038 grain H2O = 3.119 cm
Cartridge O.A.L. L6: 2.710 inch = 68.83 mm
Barrel Length : 22.0 inch = 558.8 mm

Predicted Data for Indicated Charges of the Following Powders.
Matching Maximum Pressure: 62000 psi, or 427 MPa
or a maximum loading ratio or filling of 110 %
These calculations refer to your specified settings in QuickLOAD 'Cartridge Dimensions' window.
C A U T I O N : any load listed can result in a powder charge that falls below minimum suggested
loads or exceeds maximum suggested loads as presented in current handloading manuals. Understand
