I need to buy a scope for a walk-around groundhog gun that I purchased recently. I like fixed power scopes, and am thinking that either a discontinued Leupold M8 12X AO with MC4 or a Weaver KT15 (15X) would best suit the intended use and my budget. On paper the Weaver has much to recommend it: lower cost (@ $100), higher magnification, and click adjustments. I suspect that the Leupold would have better optical quality, but am unable to compare the two scopes side by side. Which of these two scopes would you choose for ground hog hunting out to 300 yards or so, and why? Thanks for your opinions.
