What Language is this???????I know many of you are fans of Mitt's off shore holdings and of Mother Jones but is this the man any of you really want to be in charge of the country? The man is a cheat and the system provides him a easy way to do it. Take a few mins and read.... Link http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/09/mitt-romney-offshore-investments-cayman-islandsOffshore tax havens are better known for facilitating money laundering and tax evasion than legitimate business. The total value of Romney's offshore investments is unknown, but his tax returns have revealed that he has at least $30 million invested in the Cayman Islands, in at least 12 different Bain Capital funds. Tough to pay taxes and support the country that gave him his breaks when he hits his money...But it is all legal! Our system is broken when it provides for this type of shady system! "The Cayman Islands jurisdiction for the Bain funds primarily makes it easy for their investors to cheat on their taxes," says Rebecca Wilkins, the senior counsel for federal tax policy at the nonprofit Citizens for Tax Justice. "Because of that they can attract more investors and they can earn bigger management fees. "
Because of the secrecy laws in the Caymans and other offshore tax havens, Bain investors are hidden from tax authorities like the IRS. Unless they choose to report their holdings and income, as Romney has, there is no way for tax officials in the US or other countries to know that such holdings exist, much less find a way to tax them. Perfect! After using Google Translate.......I know many of you are fans of Mitt's off shore holdings and Blah, blah, blah, blabber, blah, blah, INFIDEL!!!!!! blah, blah, blah, blahbitty, blah... Link http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2012/09/mitt-romney-offshore-investments-cayman-islandsBlah, blah, blah, blabber, blah, blah, INFIDEL!!!!!! blah, blah, blah, blahbitty, blah... Sniffle, Sniffle, NO FAIR!!!!!! Mommy he won't shay he munny! You FK'in nailed it right there Brutha PAMac. Gunner

I don't waste my time on lost causes, except TRH, 'cause he's like kicking a cat. It doesn't do any good, but it's still fun. You're not being honest. Were you being honest, I'd expect you to respond to my posts when I address yours, and you rarely if ever do. Perhaps it's not as much fun to do so as you like to pretend.

This is dammed propaganda! Especially this: Offshore tax havens are better known for facilitating money laundering and tax evasion than legitimate business. Did you know that Obama is a criminal? A huge portion of black men are criminals and Obama is black. So that means he is a criminal.

The real problem with offshore investments is that our confiscatory rates are so high that forces the wealthy to look elsewhere to invest. How stupid is that? Oh, I know you socialists want it all........but you will only get it once. US tax rates are on the low side of the scale, not confiscatory; especially as to the 15% on capital gains. here's a chart comparing rates with other nations: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_tax_ratesAnd, income taxes are only one form of tax levies. Real estate, sales, and, other taxes are higher in many other parts of the world. He was talking about corporate taxes. When your business earns money it has to pay taxes on it and then you pay taxes on it again.

All right, finally, you are making more sense.

Folks in that top 1% club did not reach that level by looking for ways to dispose of their income. They look for ways to retain as much as possible. The wife and I used IRA's as a means of lowering out taxable income for years, and I see no crime in that. We stopped that effort entirely when they were no longer an advantage. Moving investments and returns out of country makes perfect fiscal sense. Most of us are just jealous that we're not saddled with the same issue.

Gentlemen, I'm not certain (though I might well imagine )what Walt the pretender has spewed forth other than what has been quoted. With that said, this thread reminds me of the discorse in the new Avengers movie where Thor, after being told of Loki's crimes of terror and murder, states: "He is adopted"... bhtr

TRUE! Who gives a scheit about where Romney has his money parked? There are most likely at least several hundred THOUSAND rich bass turds with millions of dollars stashed overseas and that would include about 50% of them BEING DEMOCRATS! You're just jealous you don't have that kind of scratch to park "offshore"! Where the hell do you think Al Gore stashes his cash? OFFSHORE! GET OVER IT AND GROW UP ! It's reality and the way things are in this country today and is done by people of every damm party and persuasion!

Perfect! I read the article....it's a ridiculous article designed to enhance class warfare and create an issue that does not exist. Not surprised NWA falls for it hook, line and sinker. As a US citizen, Romney should be free to stash his money anywhere in the world he wants and if that is beyond the grasp of leeching politicians and self-entitled parasites like NWA and the bogus author spouting platitudes about "inequality",he should be free to do it....after all,it is "his" money;not the governments. If the US government were run responsibly, had an intelligent tax code and did not pursue confiscatory tax policies of redistribution and to support an ever expanding, bloated Federal Government,Romney might leave it here. Unfortunately it does none of these things, spends like a drunken sailor, and expects people like Romney to hang their fortunes out where the govenment parasites can grab what they want. They (and people like the OP)behave like the money is theirs!LOL! No small wonder people move money off-shore. I'm not surprised and don't blame them. I'm even more surprised I took the time to respond to this OP and his stupid thread...

. As a US citizen, Romney should be free to stash his money anywhere in the world he wants I thought that Mitt was born in Mexico...that would make him a citizen of....Mexico? Maybe he should stash his money in Mexico! The problem is the tax law. The loopholes were written by rich white guys to benefit rich white guys, not any of us. I do not fault Mitt for hiding his money all round the world so he pays less taxes, the laws allows it. He should not pretend that he is a common man and that 47% of the country are slackers when he has a system that allows him to avoid taxes. I think Mitt should tell us specific ways he would close loopholes and specific programs he would cut. Even the nit-wit Perry tried to list 3 agencies that he would close if elected, prior to having a brain cramp! Mitt should tell us something specific because his big brush strokes are not working and he is about to loose this election by huge numbers. Remember I have said Mitt will loose by 12 points. I don't think Obama will win by 12 but Mitt will loose by 12 points. Get the bigger picture here. Turd Sandwich...Tasty!
