Lots of things are said by those who dont know what they are talking about because they dont know what they are doing. Those look good creeker. Von Gruff.

The thing is WW alloy is not as consistent as it was a generation ago, plus differences between manufacturers can compound the issue. Therein lies the reason behind some guys saying straight WWs don't make for good bullets. Generally speaking though if one runs the pot at high temp, pretty good results can be had from almost any straight WWs. It's usually best to do a sample casting and only if necessary add some tin to sweeten the pot. Those are truly some nice ones Creeker. Why are you wasting time photographing them and not shooting them?

You know gnoahhh, wheel weights aren't the same from place to place. I see the difference in casting. I think [not know] the difference I find in casting is caused by the amount of tin in the batch. If you notice this bullet http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h...Room%20101/Bullets/41-230-K/DSC02795.jpgthe front driving band isn't sharp along it's leading edge. Caused by not enough tin? That mould using 92-6-2 alloy will have a knife edge along the front of that driving band. Those are truly some nice ones Creeker. Why are you wasting time photographing them and not shooting them? Well I sold all those. I would have shot some but I don't own a 41.

yep they make crappy bullets, I'll take some of that ww alloy off your hands so you don't have to mess with it.
Whatever you are willing to put up with, is exactly what you will have.
When your ship comes in. ... make sure you are willing to unload it.
PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

The lack of tin can make for some fill-out problems with straight clip-on wheel weights. I often get around this by running my alloy/mold a little hotter. This sometimes causes "frosty-looking" bullets that some people seem horrified by. I like a shiny bullet as good as the next guy but I also like a bullet that is of the proper size and has a sharp base and driving bands and am not exceptionally concerned if they are a little frosty.
I am in the "use tin only if I really need to" camp and think your bullet looks just fine.

Hot pizza and frosty beer, hot mold and frosty bullets. Life is good when kept simple.
