Thanks! McMillan does good work wink

The bolt knobs are from Karl Kampfeld. They are the knurled Campfire knob. He'll ship them directly to us in Canada for a VERY reasonable price.

Not real light, but no need for heavy barrels with a Sako 75 in 300 WBY Mag with a 26 inch barrel topped with a Swarovski Z-6 3-18X50 with BRH reticle...

Thanks gentlemen...it started out life as a NIB 7mm-08..never shot it. Had a friend take it down to the action, true it , lap it install a Bartlein #3 6.5 barrel on it and chamber it in 6.5x47 Lapua. Had another friend flute the bolt and barrel then install the bolt knob. Bedded in a B&C Alaskan II stock. Every other one he put together shoots....hope this one does as well. Just have to break it in and work up a load.

Not as pretty as Shrapnel's but I ain't got aviators either blush

You'll find one if you're patient smile

The Varmint is going to see some Atlas/AI mags shortly, and then it'll be done until the barrel needs to turn into a 6.5 bore, chambered in .260 AI grin Unless of course I decide that the bolt and barrel need fluting before then. *grin*

I'm bummed knowing that my .308 barrel will last another 4k rounds in all likelihood... Sucker is so fun to shoot, but I REALLY want a 6mm Creedmoore!

That doesn't mean you need to send the 308 down the road....Keep it or you'll be kicking yourself in the azz later...

Not the .308, just the tube laugh the setup as a whole is perfect and will likely see a multitide of barrels in its day.

I do wonder if things get to the point that 308,223, 9/45 ammo/guns are banned, but if it gets that bad, it's all moot.

Nice 6.5 above, looks like Tanner is working his way in that direction, 30, 7mm, 6.5 next wink
