Well that sucks.
Having one would beat the hell out of sending poor guys in there beating the bushes looking for this azzhole.
Just hoping they can zap his azz from afar without anyone else getting hurt.
I, for one, appreciate that. It's a little different when you are the hunter though, rather than the hunted. It doesn't take much to shoot kids in their front door or random cops sitting at a red light. I agree Pat, but the object is not to give any [bleep] a chance, whether he be good, bad or somewhere in the middle. LOL

Fair enough. I get paid to put myself in schitty spots to catch dangerous people. I train to gain as much advantage as possible. We don't just run behind a dog during a tac tracks. I've done enough to be confident in my dog if I had to do so. We (K9 handlers) have a damn good record of success going after armed bad guys willing to shoot it out in the woods. Didn't say they were using poor tactics, PD can't afford to leave any rock unturned!
This will tie up resources like these various departments haven't seen in a long time... and most of these departments have been going through budget and personnel cuts for nearly 5 years now.

Just a name tagged on to them. "Copy and Pasted" Though the deer of D12 are commonly called burro deer, they�re really just desert mule deer. The �burro� name probably comes from the fact they are generally smaller in body size than Rocky Mountain or even California�s coastal mule deer.
Their diminutive size is a result of their desert home. But they are not as tiny, by any means, as the Coues deer found in Arizona, New Mexico and Mexico. That tiny whitetail deer is much smaller. In some cases, hunters in the D12 and D17 zones to the north have taken some really larger deer � but the �burro deer� name continues.
Phil Thanks for this Greyghost - I thought I had seen every type of deer in the SW and West during the past 50 years, and seem to have taken at least one of most of them. But, that "Burro" critter escaped me completely - and we used to hunt along both sides of the lower Colorado in the old days.

Not excusing what he did, but now I wonder if he was thrown under the bus to protect the other officer and a potential lawsuit against LAPD from the "kicking" incident? Sure does sound like it.... and I dought there will be any re opening of the investigation (if there ever was one....) Afterall, the police have to look out for each other and have to trust one another... They cannot have one be willing to tell the truth about some other cop who did wrong. . Heaven forbid that we would have honest cops, right?

O. h. eremicus � Desert/burro mule deer (northwest Mexico and Arizona)
Couple things I was told by oldtimers... whether true or just local lore... the Burro name comes from mexico and a burro buck has a large humped nose often found in the desert.
