I doubt that they're scared of his color. They are scared of a blue truck.

Man...what's the Over/Under on this big boy?
Let's see who can guess best where he is...I'm thinking he's on foot and still in the area near his burnt truck. That Bear Mtn area still. KFI radio today mentioned that on his Facebook page, he had photos of himself and others on lots of motorcycles. They postulated that he loaded up a motorcycle in the back of the truck, drove to Big Bear, unloaded the bike, burned the truck and hit the road. With riding gear and a helmet on he wouldn't be easily recognizable and could go anywhere in the short term. Tin foil hat - Check.!

I imagine a motorcyle at a Ski resort in the snow in February might be considered suspicious.

And a black guy in white snow might be considered racist by some.

He will not kill himself, he ain't in the area, there IS a way to [bleep] up tracker dogs (and I AIN'T sayin' how) and FLIR is NOT infallible. This guy will kill again on HIS schedule. He is lying low in some previously prepared place. He will kill again and it has the area cops scared. NO I do not have anything resembling support for this guy. I gave cold assessments. One man had completely disrupted everybody's routine in several states now. It will get worse as the cops get very fatigued and stressed out.

Here's one thing about Big Bear Ca.
It's Southern California.
Once you lose a 1000' ... 1500' ... and at the most 2000' you're out of the snow. It's not a vast expanse of wilderness.

To the NE, there's a huge expanse of desert.
Leastwise, there used to be.

O. h. eremicus Desert/burro mule deer (northwest Mexico and Arizona) Couple things I was told by oldtimers... whether true or just local lore... the Burro name comes from mexico and a burro buck has a large humped nose often found in the desert. Kent Thanks, Kent. Well, I (and no doubt you as well) have at times killed a humped nose desert mule deer buck down in your area (and, for me, out on the Kofa) and I sure never heard anyone call it a "burro". Won a rifle in a big deer contest in Yuma with one like that back in the 60s but don't remember any of the old timers (gawkers at the barber shop next door) calling it that. That is not to say that the old lore you heard is not so - just that I've never heard it. We have a humped nose gal up the highway at the gas station - kinda looks like a muley - maybe I'll just call her "burro" for a spell.

What few deer I have seen along the Colorado River or in the Mojave looked like mule deer.

Leastwise, there used to be. To the north ... there's no roads that I remember. Way back when there was only three outlets from Big Bear Lake City.

I'm not supportive of him either, lest some who are comprehension-challenged think so. lol Dude is just lucky there's not some New Yorker around with a big Sharps.

Quemado... and there's only one station... so she's easy to find.
Opps, I forgot about the new one... now I'm going to have to check both out.

Depends on what your driving and/or how deep the snow is, lots of dirt roads. South over the ridge into the Santa Anna River Valley (Seven Oaks area), West toward Crestline has some, the Holcomb Valley area, east off Onyx Summit toward Pioneer Town, I have done all of these except perhaps Holcomb valley, and I am sure others as it has been decades since I spent any time there.

You have to fly into LA and rental rates on blue trucks are cheap right now.
