i have used it in 3030 for arround 7 deer with no prob. in 4570 i used it on hudge bison, first shot brodside it just turned its head and looked my way. 3 more quick shots later it fell over. none came out the other side. i think it needs more weight. at least 375 to 400 gr. both 3030 and 4570 shoot very well. the 3030 is savage 99 the 4570 a 1886 winchester. hope this is a help. D O M I T !

deadly performance and accuracy out of my marlin 1895xlr 45-70.

Highly recommend you give LR a try. The factory cartridges shoot great out of my JM Marlin 336 in .30-30. From the bench it grouped inside the Rem 170 Corelokts I'd been using, .75 inch v 1.25.

At time LR come out a friend who reloaded was helping me try to develop a hunting load for the .30-30. I basically stopped development after shooting the LR. Now that I've recently started reloading myself, I may try rolling my own for fun.

I've only used the LR on one deer, DRT at 125 yds, left nice hole in off shoulder.

I've seen comments around the interwebs that some folks don't like LR. Seems like most folks do. I'd sure give it a go in your .32 Win Sp. FYI, for me it shot about 6 inches higher at 100 yds than the Rem 170 Corelokts I had been using, so adjust accordingly.

It is recommended by Hornady that the magazine follower be replaced with one that is LR-compatible, particularly if the weapon is to remain loaded any significant length of time. Apparently the tip of the bullet on the follower can deform. I have not replaced and have not noticed any deformation issues loading for a day of hunting or range shooting. It might be if your habit is to leave your critter-gitter loaded by the cabin door all the time.

I've had very good luck with it in my .35 Remington. It does shoot significantly higher than the Remington CoreLokt.

I need to get better about taking pictures. The last two deer I shot (both through the shoulder) went down immediately. The exit was devastated. IME, it's certainly not an "eat right up to the hole" bullet.

A while back, when Hornaday first came out with thier FTX bullets, for the reloader, I did buy a box(100) of 160 gr. FTX. for our .30-30s, and also a box(100) of the 325 gr. FTX for our .45-70s.
I feel that by the time we had used up those rounds, we had given'um a fair shake down. Yup, they hit what we were aimin' at, and sure 'nuff, they died! However, we didn't find that
they shot any better, nor did the critters die any better.
Fact is, for our puposes, in the .45-70s, at the ranges that we hunt, a good cast bullet does just as well. In the .30-30s', we went back to the ol' Hi-V 170 gr.
The FTX are a good bullet, but nuthin exceptional.
