"one of the responses I got from our officials from conversations with parents here is that they're actually scared."
So Kerry knows a guy, who knows a guy, who told him that.
In any case it's a load of crap. As has been pointed out, they enjoy shooting.

Nobody's holding a gun to their head to come here... or are they?

I hope more of them stay scared, and IN THEIR OWN COUNTRIES!
I'm "scared" of Politicians! I RESPECT chainsaws, guns, outboard motors, log splitters, automobiles, ATV's, wood chippers..... the list goes on and on. I CAN say that not ONE of my firearms has ever tried to harm me. -TomT

I am scared of the ignorance and stupidity that fails to recognize the value of an armed society,so in that respect, they scare me,and I am not interested in their opinions.
I care even less about what John Kerry says because he is a moron and always has been.

You know, Japan has a nasty little secret about how safe things are there w/o guns. I won't post any links, but I'll tell you it happens on the trains. There's some people who could have used guns and didn't have one.

They should stay home, then. How many muzzie terrorists got into this country on student visas, I wonder? Gee, one wouldn't be named Barry Soetoro, maybe? Home? Indonesia, Hawaii? Maybe under his muzzy name? I want to see those damn college transcripts...... And I demand (Kerry) we "do something" about free ride foreign nationals going to school on our dime and killing my countrymen and kids.

What was the point of this article? I work at a university and there is no shortage of foreign students. And even if there were less students from abroad, how does that really change anything? There are plenty of US born citizens that would love to take their place in grad school.

Kerry is simply not credible. Possibly he got this idea from other government (foreign service) sources who report on what parents tell them, but the vast majority of non-US people do not share it.
At least, I never hear this from anyone in Japan, and I'd bet he is likely referring to it rather than other countries.

Kerry is simply not credible. And then there's that. We could just have a travel warning about avoiding democrat run urban centers, that would make things safer for visiting students and tourists, wouldn't it?

Kerry: Foreign Students 'Scared' of Guns in America
Don't mean to be rude here, but isn't the person of interest in the Boston fiasco a foreign student? It would appear that Mr Kerry has more to fear from the foreign students than the residents with firearms.
These are my opinions, feel free to disagree.

He noted Japan's restrictive gun laws which prevent private ownership of nearly all firearms, including handguns and said the country was safer "where people are not running around with guns." I highly doubt a country full of Japanese people would be anymore dangerous if they were allowed firearms, but let's see them outlaw swords and watch what happens.

I disagree, the c_nts caused an awful lot of problems the last time they were allowed to play with firearms.
