To be completely fair, Yalie's thread didn't come completely out of left field. Mark called him out in one or two other threads, which resulted in this one.

Everything else you said is spot on, so don't think that I am defending Yalie. He's a bottom-feeder that seems to get his kicks from backing out of deals. Thankfully, this thread should save others from his headaches in future transactions.

Don't bet on it as he will be back operating under another name. Just look at how many times Larry Root has came back as someone else.

If we knew his actual name, that problem would be easy enough to avoid. Yalie might sue someone for posting it, though. wink

Mark,

My comment was a bit tongue-in-cheek, since Chris signed his original post. I am sorry that you got caught up in a mess with him. You're a good guy who deserves much, much better.

Thanks, no sweat on my end, as this actually turned into a blessing for me. I am stunned and seriously humbled by the outpouring of freindship and support. All I try to do is be a bit more than fair, proffesional and kind. I am no where near perfect at all of that, but I try and I guess that plays well here.

And my comment was a bit tongue in cheek as well, as I have NO intent to publish Chris's wife's name or his address. Just no need of any of that. This can and should probably just die down now with some of us a bit the wiser.

Mark, like many others, you have professed to be a Christian. Unlike many others, you actually live the life you believe in.This outpouring of freindship and support is a by-product of that...

I've never done business with Mark,as current US laws make cross border trading or even buying and selling difficult.Several times while dealing with his illness he has taken the time and effort to contact me and enquire as to how I'm doing with my own. There are a number of Campfire members that I would give up my left arm to be able to meet and sit down and chat with before my time comes.Mark is one of them. Fair enough. There's enough drama on the 'Fire lately that I'm sure I've missed quite a bit of it.

Sorry, I read this thread and felt this video was an appropriate summarization of the fire's feelings on this topic.

All I can say about Mark is that world would be alot better place if more of us were like Mark, he's a class act, men like Mark you only run across once in a life time, I'm proud to call him my friend, if he ever needs anything I hope he's not to proud to ask for my help. Greg

Back when I was a practicing cowboy, one of my favorite tactics when dealing with self absorbed narcissistic gasbags was to let them inflate themselves to the point of critical mass distension. I would then encourage them to visit one of the local institutions of cultural learning and hands on education, like, say, the Hell Creek Bar, where they then, were persuaded to lecture the unwashed locals.

Virtually all left with a JD - just drubbed. ;-{>8

I'm enjoyin the verdict. Might even resemble justice.

The main reason I played so much golf in law school was because pricks like Chris Bemis roamed the halls and had absolutely zero awareness of their douche bag personality. I've communicated with Mark more than once and he's good people. And so am I and EricM and several other lawyers on the forum. It's self-rightous azzholes like Bemis that (regretfully) give the rest of us a bad name.

Dont know Safariman and have never done a deal with him but wouldn't hesitate to take him at his word on what he had. Hell if I was selling and he wanted it I would even be inclined to deliver solely on his word that the money would show when he was able. Mark isn't the kind of guy that stiffs another and I have zero doubt the funds would follow shortly.

Hell if i remember correctly a few years ago Mark was looking for a fishing boat and had found one in my AO. It was a few hundred dollars out of his price range but seeing as how I was driving through his AO a week later I offered to buy it and deliver on my way through. Told him to pay what he could and send the rest when he had it.

Zero qualms with the offer I made and would do the same tomorrow without second thought. I know Mark will make good on any dealings.

Still hoping to share a meal with Mark if not a mule deer hunt one October as we both deer hunt within an hour of each other.

Mark is extremely difficult to deal with. He posted a fine SXS shotgun and could not post photos... That is unreasonable. It made me look at the odds and decide I needed it, particularly because the price was very right.

He did a poor job of describing the gun because it was far better than he described. Then to top it off I thought his price, shipped, was too low and insisted on paying shipping. He would only let me split it with him... Every step was a problem!

For sure with problems like this I wonder what a good deal with Mark would be like, no better guy to deal with than Mark. Yalie take your azz somewhere else and poison some other forum, your done on 24 hour, theres only one other person you could have called out on here to get more people pissed at you and on your [bleep] list and that would have been RickBin

Sheesh man it sure pays to communicate. You're now on my ignore list and you'll likely find it easiest to just make yourself scarce around here.

Mark is, as others have said, one of the finest fellows around here and the least likely to do what you claim he did. If you'd have called and talked with him you'd know that. If you contributed elsewhere on the 'fire you'd know this as well.

As far as I care, you oughta take a long walk off a short pier. Your name is mud.

These private matters can and should be kept private, but you being a big Yale grad probably already "knew" that, huh? Well... you certainly ought to get it now...
