A finger. A big, fat, looooong finger.

It won't make you gay.

Unless you're still thinking about it a day later and buying leopard print, then yeah, you might be gay.

Happy Birthday.

Turned 50 in May. I feel better than I did last year. However, I have not been working as many hours and I lost 5 more pounds. Keep in shape or you will get old much faster. In my 20's I could loose weight by telling my body to loose weight and it worked, 30's not so much. At 40 I was overweight and my carpenter job was killing me. At 50 I am 15 lbs lighter and feel ok. Lots of sleep, get stress out of your life and slow down just a notch if you are working hard. You are not young any more! Happy birthday!!!!

The '50s aren't bad. Women will find you more attractive. For me 58 was the best year young women(late teens, early twenties)found me very attractive. Long past that now though.

50 was no problem.
60 was OK.
65 was tolerable
70 is going to suck, though, because I won't be able to kid myself about being "middle aged" any more.

It's been so long since I was 50 (28 yrs ago) that I just don't remember what happened. Whatever it was must still be happening.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times...

First, I went into a depression that lasted 7 years. 50 hit harder than any birthday prior to that. The reality of my own mortality finally dawned on me.

But - I was regularly banging a really cute, intelligent and funny 22 year old girl with great boobs for a couple of years in there, so that sort of balanced things out.

BTW, the depression led me to re-evaluate everything that I had thought was important for the first 50 years of life and made me lighten up and see what was really important. I'm happier, more relaxed and content with life at age 60 now than at any time before. I do, however, miss that cute 22 year old girl.

Good luck! grin

P.S. Don't listen to those guys kidding you about Viagra. Hit the gym and keep up your strength training - muscle helps produces testosterone - watch your weight and don't skip the cardio for endurance. Stay in shape and everything will work just fine... wink

Viagra is for guys that are really old...

Some here are right on the mark regarding the various physical changes, declines, pains and forgetfulness (sometimes it just sucks) and their advice about ways to stay well is good.

In my experience, depression is not driven by any particular age mark or aging process - rather by the emotional and bodily chemistry of the person. It seems that those who have been honest with themselves throughout life, and particulalry about normal human frailty and mortality, are those who live in the best mental state when aged. Some folks avoid those concepts for as long as they can, then are smacked by some "realization" at one point. That can hurt.

Now fairly old, I have my share of worries and concerns - but those are about how I am going to continue to have great time with my family, take good care of my wife, keep my skills sharp while my body declines, get everything done that I need/want to do, and the best ways to dispose of all of this "stuff" I have gathered. Letting some of it go seems hard to consider.

But, each day is an opportunity to keep growing, and keep trying - so each day can be a victory if done right. I feel blessed.

I don't know I am coming up on 58 and can not remember what 50 was like, take no meds, have lost weight, down from 220 or so and now sitting at 171, was told I had to cut out sugar, never had any of the tests they say to have, my dad just turned 90 so there may be hope for me yet.

Just enjoy life.

Don't forget the sunscreen. Wife laughed so hard she cried down both legs. Said I looked like a strike anywhere match.
