Been thinking where I want to settle down one day, always wanted to go out east towards Wyoming or one of the Dakota's.. then realized I would miss blacktail hunting and would still want to be close to family. Thinking maybe north might be where I want to go. I would like The coast for fishing, surfing, and seafood Blacktails because I love hunting them Mulie's, whitetails, elk, antelope, and bear. Pig would be a bonus And non retarded laws that are in California.. they were talking about doing away with the bullet button as it is and making all California lead free Pictures are welcome for you Oregon guys..  How hard is to get a tag in Oregon? Draw or is it OTC? Thanks

It's almost as beautiful as Washington  I will be retiring in southern/central Orygun....Steelhead mecca.

I've spent a grand total of a week in Portland/Vancouver. The sun was shining for a total of 2 hours. Cousin lives at Tillamook. He said it usually rains about 35 days a month, give or take a few days.
If I waS forced in Oregon, it would have to be on the east side of the state. I admit, my opinion is based on limited experience and heresay.

I hear deer and elk tags are hard to get in Oregon, but you can always hunt at night when there's less pressure.

I used to hunt mulies on the east side, them Orygun boys used to say "you just died and went to Orygun"! Two kinds of elk, three kinds of deer, ocean, desert, steelhead, crab, whitewater rafting, bird hunting and skiing all year round! Prime tags do take awhile to get!

The west side south from about Roseburg isn't nearly as wet as farther north. Eugene? The UO teams aren't called the Ducks for nothing. West of the Cascades it's high desert all the way to Idaho/Nevada...and beyond. The central part of the state is high desert from CA to Burns, then some mountains and much greener on up to the Columbia. There aren't many people in the entire SE part of the state for 1 main reason - no water.
