His 270 will never be a 30-06. I can run 250's in my 30-06's wink...Just sayin..

9 elk with a 270 all taken with 150 gr partition. Typical performance and none went more than 40 yards or so

He's off to the right by quite a ways. If he were to shoot 600 yards at something it would be a guaranteed miss (out of the vitals anyway)...Nice group though..

10 days ago I got my cow Elk using a 270 winchester with
150gr Nosler Partitions. I was using 58gr of Norma MRP for
powder. May go back to the 140gr Accubonds I used last year.

I've shot that particular bullet out of a couple of my .270s and it was quite accurate, using book charges of RL-22.

I've never shot any game animals with it but I don't know why it wouldn't work.

That is one of the bullets that I would love to give a whirl outta my 270WSM. Decent BC on that bullet and I think I'd have the ability to run it at a pretty good clip..

That's been my experience. I had my best accuracy with below max charges of RL-22. They didn't like H4831 but I've got some Magpro I try with them this winter. Worked on a mtn goat last month.

Where do you find 4831 of any brand? I haven't seen any for a long time and had to totally redo my 300 WSM recipe for hunting season.
