Where's your furball, TR? I've never used it on a coyote Don. I've only got a load with the 20 gr. V-max for it and I've shot a few prairie dogs in the 300 yard range that I didn't even get exits on, which tells me that the little 20 gr. v-max don't penetrate a whole lot,. plus I got other tools that work just fine. I've got a couple years worth of the 30 gr. Golds, and a couple years worth of 25 gr. Nagel's for the .17 Rem., so bullets aren't an issue for me, for a while. Hopefully, one of these days we all won't be worried about finding some of our favorite bullets in a whole selection of calibers, including the .17.

Prairie goat I heard the problem was Berger wasn't selling the jackets to bullet makers anymore is why kindler won't be making 17 cal bullets. I could be wrong but that's what I have heard

I read something awhile back mentioning how Berger had suspended production on a bunch of their slow moving bullets and jackets due to the increased demand, so hopefully this is temporary.

I forget the actual amount but it way more than he can afford to buy at one time. Probably don't want to be bothered with supplying the competition with components when the current market is what it is.

You might find me using something else, but these are the 3 that are used most often. I'll carry both the shotgun and a rifle on most stands. Remington 11-87, 12 gauge. Ruger Mod. 77, .243 Win. TC Encore, 22-250 Remington.

Two Dan Carey Custom AR's, one in 6x45 and the other in 223. The semi auto gives you an edge on multiples....Especially when you are by yourself:) I am a bolt gun kind of guy but have to say these two rifles shoot too well and are too handy to leave at home. T.S.

New-to-me Sako AII .22-250.... Almost got a 'yote with it this morning but didn't get a shot. It's a mite explosive on prairie dogs though...(grin) I heard somewhere .224 bullets won't bounce off a deer so I might have to tote it after a mulie next year... Ben

my fav rifle seems to be the little rem 700 tac in 223. I removed the stock and used one of the hs precision stocks, fit with hs clip a shelin trigger and a muzzle break for spotting his at low light, topped with a green burris 4.5x14 scope. makes for a very handy accurate package.. really anchors coyotes with 52 gr tsx

I've accumulated a large number of rifles for my varmint battery, but have managed in the last 5 years or so to quit buying. Favorites are the Swift and 22-250s. Also like the little ones like the 17 Fireball.
My g8-g8 uncle was Barney Riggs. Google and read about him. He roamed around the southwest, mainly west Tx and Az and NM territory. History credits him with from 9 - 12 men he killed, not counting Mexicans and Indians. Family lore has it at 18.

84M in .243, Cz carbines in either .223 or 7.62x39, Rem 799/.223 in a B&C Medalist or one of my .22 mags.
The .223s are all loaded with 55 gr. soft points.
In really tight cover I favor the 7.62x39/123 gr. soft point or .22 mag with CCI 40 gr. solids.
