This bullet looks like a Partition, without the front lead core, and a plastic point ala ballistic tip on top of a hollow cavity. It also has the black Lubalox coating.
They are not available in component form; you must buy factory ammo. The ballistic coefficients are good trajectories correspondingly flat.
The ammo has been available for a couple of years but I've never read any field reports on the 'fire.

Shot a bunch of them thru a .270 whissum, and a 7mmRM. Everything died pretty quick. I believe the bullet is available as the "Combined Technology" Ballistic Silver Tip--its a joint venture between Nosler and Winchester. I have a .308 that's fond of them in 165gr, but haven't used them on critters yet (soon to be remedied on the next yote outing) Good luck G

I killed a handul of whitetails and a mule deer buck with the 140 grain XP3's out of a .270 WSM. Like gddir said, everything died pretty quick.

The XP3 has the front end of a TTSX with a lead rear to decrease the length. It's actually an improved CT Failsafe with a plastic tip.

I would say the XP3 is closer to design of the old Failsafes with some Accubond technology and tipped for better ballistics.
I wish I could try these in reloads, but happy with my Accubonds.
2 guys in our moose hunting group got a bull each last year with XP3's-one with his 300WSM, the other with his 300WM both in 180gr. 1-shot kills.
Recovered one bullet, perfect expansion as illustrated on Winchester's website and ammo box. I got the guy's bullet so I could weigh it. I will try to find it at home and take a pic or 2 and post.
I might just try them in one of my 270WSM as they come only in 150gr, just to see performance over my 140gr Accubond reloads.

I used two 180 grain XP3s out of a 300 Win Mag on an Elk last year. They performed great. Both shots passed all the way through (both double lung shots). The first shot exited through the far shoulder without any problems. The lungs were mush.
Really the only downside to using XP3s is finding them in my area. I don't think I saw a box for sale locally this year.
Oh, I did have one box of 150 grain XP3s fail to fire with good primer hits at the range one day. They were both from the same box. I haven't had the issue with any other boxes of XP3s.

I've shot the .243 95gr. XP3s. They shot very well out of a heavy barrel Rem. 700. I shot a 260lb boar a couple years ago, at a little over 100yrds, the bullet passed through the entrance side shoulder and exited just behind the other shoulder leaving a large hole. The hog might have gone 15yrds. Hogs are tough, I was impressed with what the 95gr. 6mm bullet did!
