I recently got to handle these knives personally, and as nice as they are in the pictures, they're even nicer in person. The rams horn skinner is especially nice. The horn is translucent to some degree when finished out as nice as Dale finishes it, and on the edges where the red liners are...that red seems to just go into the scales there and looks real dayum cool...! I'll say that the finish on the blades was also very, very nice. Besides the persistence and determination that Dale's shown in perfecting his craft of knife making...which is certainly producing some fine examples...he's also learning many things firsthand from Rick Menefee. And you'd be hard pressed to find a better person to teach one about making knives than him.

Dale makes some nice knives and as you said he goes to a great source to get help. Last group I saw didn't need much .

Thanks, getting the left/right alignment with the multiple layered liners and the angle cuts was more of a trick that I thought it was going to be until Rick showed me how to lay it out. First one I did wasn't perfect, but I think I've got it pretty well figured out. Still a royal PITA. Amazing how much complexity it adds to building the knife, but it sure does look nice when finished. Adding the bottom bolster is 10 times more complicated with the angle cuts. Definitely worth the effort on the end result, but drilling the holes and aligning everything takes some planning to make it work.

The complexity that goes into making these knives that you fellas do is a lot more than most folks would think. The little things (and there are many) do make a difference. I'm impressed tremendously by the craftsmanship you fellas demonstrate.

Sheesh. How is poor Dale gonna sell any knives with all these dainty pics? Menefee is the only one gettin' bloody! 'Flave and mini-'flave's blades. Travis
