I'm kickin myself now! I killed a snowshoe hare this morning while checking a trap line in the mountains. It went straight in my buddies pack for bait. Didn't get a chance for a picture. Cool little things. I always thought they were similar in size to a jackrabbit. Basically a scaled down jack. Might have to go shoot some more. Beautiful pelts on them

Cole, what are you trapping? We've been seeing some jacks in the sage around Winnett lately....Mebbe they'll make a comeback. We've got almost high-line style wind here this afternoon, I'd say the rabs are hunkering.... I know I am.
A guy from my church is big into trapping and is going to teach me.so I haven't officially set my own line but went with him to check some pine Martin traps he set. First time on snowshoes, in 3 feet of snow, with a guy that will do 20 miles a day shed huntin....it about killed me. It was a blast though! I was absolutely amazed at the amount of different tracks we saw up in the woods. Hopefully this weekend I'll get out with him to set some snares for coyotes.

No Charlie, the little coon just out of frame in this pic got whacked with the 17rem M7. The top was a grey that got a load of 12ga #4 buck and the red got a 20gr. Gamepoints from the Marlin HMR. Was mostly tight areas around houses and livestock. Coon was back a little further with more open ground.
