Years ago we only had an International Travelall. We shot two elk, dragged them down the mountain whole and winched them diagonally into the Travelall with a come-along. Of course we drove around West Yellowstone with them hanging out until they spoiled...

Here's my setup on my morning wolf expeditions. .308 American compact is for wolves, single six for grouse.

Keeping with the dog/truck theme: Keepin' it cool: Hasn't left my side since I've been home from the hospital, it's a dog's life: This one's for Huntsman, I need a hair dryer as much as you do! And as an aside, don't ever get in a head butting contest with a cow:

Thanks CFVA, I was never afraid of cows before, that is a little too western. Now I know the real reason for a truck gun is not just recreational.

I'll play, if I can get the image to post. Ruger 16 inch "Patrol Rifle" (basically a stainless mini 14 with 16" barrel and FS, 1x3 scope, and Lucid Snap Rack. I also have a nice DuHa under seat rack that will store 4 rifles under the rear seats of the truck.

mike r They're nothing to be afraid of, every time I've been hurt by one it's been my own fault. The only time I take my rifle out of the truck is when we pen/vaccinate cattle, so my temper won't get the better of me and whack one. I've caught myself walking to the house a few times to get a gun, but that walk gives me enough time to cool off and realize how much money I'd be losing if I shot the bitch rather than sold it.

If he wasn't worth 1.30 lb right now ,there's a Black whiteface in the barn right now I would get some satisfaction doing that.
He really tucked them legs in quick now, didn't he?

Hope the heeler got some of the scraps, he looks malnourished!
Neighbor had a bull that kept getting in with my cows a few years back, and the owner wouldn't take any responsibility for him - plus he was a smartass. Ever seen an 1800lb bull clamped? Funny thing, the bull never came back after that...

I replace valve cover gaskets every 50K, if they don't need them sooner...

Cost cutter rifles come to mind for a truck gun, the ruger American would probably be the one for me.

Cull pen and a trip to town. Damn, you took one to the noggin! That dog is sweet, great pics.
