Can you comment on my co-worker's bucks? Are those decent bucks? How do you judge them? Other than mass, the pearled buck looks smaller to my eye then the reputedly smaller buck.
I am not a member of that forum and cant see pictures but from the write up one was bronze and second silver medal. In Europe we have CIC scoring system.
CIC Depending on what species you are interested in there are different scoring criteria. More details how to measure and what are the brackets for bronze, silver and gold are in "blue" and "red" books in the CIC website if you follow the link.
Basically most important criteria in case of roebuck is weight. Then volume of antlers and then length of tines, etc.
They must have been good bucks to score medals, I dont have any medals in my collection and my area is rather poor quality forestry ground producing not very good trophies but south of England and some areas in Scotland are well known for top quality roe stalking. Give it a go if you can.
